Chris started climbing at the young age of 14 years old and was quickly doing the hardest routes in his hometown gym in Santa Cruz California. He entered and started a very impressive string of victories in climbing competitions all across the United States. He competed in the world cup events in Europe. Who was this kid from California? People asked. Where did he get so good so fast? Everyone in the climbing world was taking notice! Chris was a very humble young man who was taking the sport to higher levels and making it look easy. Soon he began a search that continues to this day for the hardest and most impossible looking climbs. His travels have taken him all over the globe. He has put up many of the most difficult climbs in the world. Many are still unrepeated. Seven years ago his travels took him to Spain where he found some of the best climbing in the world. He has a huge world wide fan base, been on more covers of climbing magazines, starred in numerous videos, gave back to the climbing community with his self funded Yo-Basecamp foundation for kids and has even been the star subject of a Rolling Stone photoshoot. Chris remains at the forefront of climbing waking up each morning after dreaming of the perfect climbs. His routes La Dura Dura in Oliana Spain and his recent first ascent of the route Bon Combat are the two hardest routes in the world.

If you could invite anyone to be your dinner guest, dead or alive, who would it be? Maybe Bob Marley or the Dali Lama
