David started climbing 4 years ago in the mountainous state of Minnesota. After realizing it was his new passion in life, he decided to move somewhere he could climb outside within an hour’s driving distance, year round. As he was an engineer at the time, he needed to be close to a city but also needed that sweet, sweet rock. The easiest choices were Boulder, Denver, or Salt Lake. A couple months later, he found himself working and playing in Boulder, CO.
That was 2 years ago, and now his obsession has brought him to new levels. He quit his job as an engineer to follow his dream of switching careers to digital marketing and traveling the U.S. in his van.
He will start his new life with a 6 month road trip through the Pacific Northwest with stops in, but not limited to, Utah, Tahoe, The Valley, Crater Lake, Smith Rock, Seattle, Vancouver and Nelson, BC, Cour d’Alene, ID, The Tetons, and Cirque of the Towers in Wind River range.
While he claims to mostly be a trad and summer alpine climber, the fact is, he loves climbing so much, that he’ll do just about anything. Including bouldering. If he has to. Occasionally. Rather than working projects or climbing all the classics in one area, he prefers to move around and climb as many areas in his life as possible.
