Jayson Simons-Jones

Originally a farm boy from Upstate NY, Jayson has gone on to become one of less then 100 Americans to become an IFMGA/UIAGM Licensed Mountain Guide, and has been living and guiding based out of Crested Butte, Colorado since 1999, where he was the Owner/Operator of Crested Butte Mountain Guides from 2007-2014. These days Jayson can be found splitting his time between the Western Slope of Colorado guiding backcountry skiing, ice climbing, and teaching avalanche education during the winter months, and then guiding alpine and rock climbing in the Tetons for Exum Guides during the summer months, and in the Desert Southwest during the Fall months. To keep things busy and interesting, during the in between times he can be found working around the globe for his personal guiding and photography company, Lotus Alpine Adventures. Jayson has over 15 years of experience as a professional mountain guide, having guided alpine climbing and skiing regularly in such places as the Western US, Europe, Alaska, South America, & Africa. Having been lucky enough to spend well over a decade in many of the US and world’s great climbing destinations, he still considers the Dr. Seuss like atmosphere of Joshua Tree National Park to be one of his favorite rock climbing destinations, for the quality of both the climbing and the chill desert vibe.
