The long and Short of It
A quick update on the Pontas II.
So after further use i am getting more and more comfortable with the Pontas. My street shoe size is 8.5 and i am wearing these in a 7. Not painful just snug. I sent my project in these. There is a hidden smear that was the redpoint crux. It is a mall centimeter slopey edge that is under a lip in a pocket. On the send the the shoes stuck and that foot felt HUGE. Trusting this foot is crucial so you can do a small deadpoint to a flat edge only feet from the chains after about 80 feet of climbing. I know shoes dont make the climber but they help.
So i wore the Pontas II for my hardest send to date Vicious Fish 13d. The very next weekend I had planned to climb 34 pitches for my 34th birthday. Well i threw on the very same pair of shoes and went to work. Started the day with a hand full of 10s,11s and 12 and ended the day with classic 12c,12a,12a,11cs in Aggro gully. The shoe was great all day Comfortable, sticky and perfomed well. Total of 35 routs 20 were 5.10 or above.
Conclusion, These shoes are great. Weather you are going for a personal best or a long day on the rock. Stick with these shoes. Love em.

Great all around shoe
I purchased the Pontas II to help me on some climbs at smith. I was getting into these features where it was really important to smear on small slopey cups as well as edge on micro nubins. The shoes i was climbing in could edge but there was no smearing going on with them. Evolv rubber is so sticky and the Pontas has a shape and size that were perfect for just what i needed. I imediately started making larger links. Unfortunately now its to hot and i may have to hold off till cooler weather for the send.
