Our climbing shoes are designed with performance in mind, and it all starts with properly sizing your shoes. To start, Evolv does not recommend downsizing your climbing shoes. Starting with your Street Shoe size, work your way up for the desired amount of comfort. We use three categories to fit a climbing shoe:
For a Beginner fit, order 2 sizes larger than your regular street shoe size. Comfortable fit for multi-pitch or entry-level climbing.
For an Intermediate fit, order 1 size larger than your regular street shoe size. Snug fit for longer sessions.
For an Advanced fit, order the same size as your regular shoe size for maximum tightness and sensitivity. Ultra-snug fit to deliver the maximum possible performance.
If you’re unsure, we recommend sizing up +1 from your street shoe size for a reliable, snug fit.
Volume
Volume plays a role in shoes properly fitting the shape of your foot – or providing an extra level of sensitivity for more advanced climbing technique. At Evolv, we recommend volume based on your desired level of performance.
Medium Volume: Designed for a performance fit and average volume foot shapes.
Low Volume: Designed for a maximum performance fit and lower volume foot shapes.
Remember, climbing shoes are meant to be snug. Excessive dead space inside the shoe can result in the foot slipping inside the shoe. Expect a break-in period as your foot and the shoe adapt to each other.
